Metso opens its third service centre in China
Metso recently opened its third service centre for the pulp and paper industry in China. Based in Zibo in Shandong Province, the centre employs 40 people and is intended to provide advanced machinery maintenance and process development services to customers across Northern China.
The new service centre offers roll, roll cover, and mechanical roll maintenance for all makes and sizes of pulp and paper machines, together with spare parts and mill site services; it can also manufacture ceramic roll covers on-site.
Metso opened its first service centre in China in 2001, in Wuxi in Jiangsu Province, and doubled roll service capacity there in 2007. A second service centre was inaugurated in 2009, in Guangzhou in Guangdong Province.
The Chinese pulp and paper industry has made substantial investments in new machinery and technology over the past 10 years, and Metso has been involved in many of these projects and is currently the industry's leading technology supplier, with some 2,600 employees based locally today.
Metso is a global supplier of sustainable technology and services for mining, construction, power generation, automation, recycling, and the pulp and paper industries. The company employs around 27,000 people in more than 50 countries.
